How to Make Georgian Bean Stew?
Ingredients for Preparing Lobio
- 200 grams red beans
- 1 large onion
- 3 garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons chopped coriander
- 2 tablespoons ground walnut kernels
- ½ tablespoon pomegranate paste
- ½ a teaspoon spices include coriander seeds, fenugreek seeds, bay leaves
- A teaspoon thyme
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- Salt and pepper as needed

- 1 cup flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Water as needed

Directions
Step One
To make beans, we wash them the night before and soak them in lukewarm water. The next day, we drain the beans, take the pot and pour them into it. Add some water and spices to the pot, and put it on medium heat until it reaches the boiling point.
Step Two
While the beans are cooking, finely chop an onion. Add oil to the pan and put it on medium heat for 2 minutes to heat up the oil. Add onion to the pan and fry it until it becomes golden.
Step Three
Now add grated or crushed garlic to the pan fry for a few seconds until the aroma of garlic is released. Then add pomegranate paste and fry it.
Step Four
Add walnuts to the pan and fry all the ingredients together. Stir and let them fry for another 10 minutes.
Step Five
After the beans are fully cooked and drained, add the fried ingredients along with salt and pepper and stir.
How to Prepare Mchadi?
Step One
To prepare bread, combine flour with a bit of salt, slowly add water and mix until the dough is combined well. The dough should not crack when we shape it in our hands.
Step Two
Cover the dough with plastic or cellophane and let it rest for half an hour. Take a pan, add some oil to it, and put it on medium heat until the oil is heated up.
Step Three
Separate part of the dough and shape it like a cookie in your hands and then fry it in hot oil. Wait until one side is fried, then flip it over until the other side is cooked.
Step Four
Finally, remove them from the pan and put them on a kitchen towel to drain the excess oil.
