How to Make Baslogh?
Ingredients
- 10 walnut kernels
- 2 tablespoons gelatin powder
- 1 cup starch
- 2 cups water
- 1 or 2 tablespoons liquid glucose (optional)
- 1 and a half cups sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- ¼ teaspoon cardamom powder
- ⅓ cup cold water
- ½ cup rose water
- 25 grams butter
- Coconut powder as needed
Directions
Step One
To prepare delicious walnut Baslogh, pour gelatin powder into a bowl, then pour cold water into it and let the gelatin texture become sandy.
Step Two
In another bowl, pour starch with water, then mix and add vanilla and cardamom powder to the starch. Mix the ingredients and set aside.
Step Three
Take a pan and put it on low heat. Then pass the mixture through a strainer and pour it into the pan. Next, stir the starch mixture for 30 minutes until it reaches the desired concentration.
Step Four
Now we add sugar along with rose water to the starch mixture. Stir well until the ingredients are combined and uniform. Then, add gelatin powder to the pan and mix.
Step Five
Add the butter to the starch mixture at this stage, then stir until the butter melts. Add liquid glucose to the starch mixture for more clarity and elasticity, and mix again until the ingredients are combined.
Step Six
When the Baslogh is not watery anymore, take it off the heat and let it cool down. Pour the Basluq mixture into a pastry bag and choose a suitable bowl.
Step Seven
Pour the coconut powder into the bowl and set aside. Then, separate the skin of the walnut, and divide it into 2 equal parts.
Step Eight
Now we place a walnut upside down, then pour the Baslogh onto the walnut and sprinkle coconut powder on all of it until all the parts are covered with coconut powder.
How to Serve Baslogh?
Put the Basloghs in the refrigerator for 1 hour to set themselves. Take the delicious sweets out of the fridge and put them in a dish. Finally, serve them with Persian saffron tea and enjoy!
